A beautiful, deep-black, draft-blooded mare of the Friesian breed. In Roman and Greek mythology, Aurora (or Eos) renews her youth every morning and flies across the sky, heralding the arrival of the sun. She is depicted as a beautiful woman with wings, sometimes riding in a horse-drawn chariot, spreading light or flowers to welcome the day. This horse breed originated in Roman times, and its origins lie in the historic land of Friesland.

Her charm is enhanced by the typically Friesian, unique, thick mane, which, in addition to her coat, is her typical identifying mark.
